FOOD&SCIENCE FESTIVAL ON MAY 18-19 at MANTOVA: SANT’ANNA SCHOOL RECTOR AND RESEARCHERS TO TALK ON AGRICULTURE 4.0, BLACK TOMATO “SUNBLACK” AND GM MAIZE

The Food&Science Festival is back for 2018 on May 18-20. The festival in its second year is returning to Mantova to discuss the agricultural sector major challenges in terms of food security, climate change, and digitisation of agriculture. Researchers of Sant’Anna School Institute of Life Sciences will focus on innovation as well as the digital technologies impact on agricultural research. They will explore how Agriculture 4.0 will no longer depend on applying water, fertilizers, and pesticides across fields; nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics; the “SunBlack” tomato with a high content of anthocyanins, compounds known for their antioxidant power; the recent technological developments in Genetically Modified maize and up-to-date knowledge about benefits and potential problems.

The Food&Science Festival is organized by Confagricoltura Mantova and Mantova Agricola, with the support of Italian public instutions Ministero dell'Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare, Ministero delle Politiche Agricole e Forestali, Regione Lombardia, Comune di Mantova,  Camera di Commercio di Mantova
